Please Read the story below. I
am the current eBay winner to be honoured to have this torch and next
time it could be you.
I was looking on ebay at the price of torches and like most thinking wouldnt it be nice to own a piece of olympic history, but knowing deep down of never being able to afford one. Which is when I came across this auction and once you read the story below you will realise why I just had to bid. This is an AMAZING story, AMAZING charity, AMAZING torch but also an AMAZING little boy and family who thought about helping others. Have fun and join Logans Torch relay GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL ........................................................................................ ................................................................... In May ago my son Logan, 5 years old made an Olympic Torch at School. We were also lucky enough during the May/June Half Term to hold and have a photo by Tigerfly Photography with a real Olympic Torch. When I mentioned to Logan that people were selling them on eBay for Charity, he asked if we could put his on as well. Not thinking that it would make much, if anything, I agreed and we sat down and listed it, then went through the Children’s Charities and he chose Let's Hear it for Deaf Children Campaign run by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. The Torch was put on a 7 day listing and we would like you to know that his Torch sold for £21.00 plus £2.70 p&p, of which £16.80 went to Let's Hear it for Deaf Children Campaign via Mission Fish who do all the Charity bits and pieces on eBay. After the fees from eBay and paypal there was £5.47 left, this money was going to Logan to buy some more making things as was stated in the listing. When I told him his Torch had sold and read out all the fantastic and kind words from everyone involved, he was over the moon. He said he had enough making things and wanted to give the rest of his money to the Charity too. We made this £5.00 donation direct to the Justgiving page. The person who won the auction was blown away by Logan’s generosity, that they wanted us to relist the Torch to try and raise some more well needed money for the Let's Hear it for Deaf Children Campaign. We then, as requested relisted it on a 10 day listing, this time it sold for a fantastic sum of £67.00 plus £2.70 and although I stated 90% of the listing would go to the charity I will be donating the full £67.00. During this listing Logan’s Granddad came up with a fabulous idea. The last winning bidder was kind enough to pay and requested that we relist, but what if the winning bidder and proceeding winning bidders takes it on and we make it into a Torch Relay of our own! That way the winning bidder gets to have the Torch for a bit, they then get into the spirit intended and relist it on eBay, for the same Charity and so on. I think it would brilliant for Logan to see how far his Torch can travel around the country with the proceeding winning bidders maybe taking a picture of the Torch next to their Hometown Sign then posting on here, so Logan can follow its travels. If we are lucky enough for this to take off it could very well go National, and it would certainly bring a bigger audience to what Logan has started. Pom460 who was the 2nd winning bidder relisted on a 5 day auction and it sold for £56. In her listing she put: Please read the story below. I am the lucky eBay bidder winner to currently have this torch and next time it could be you, this is an amazing opportunity and a lot of fun with all monies going to charity! I love sports and never miss the Olympics, sad but true. One of my dreams was to run with the Olympic torch, unfortunately this probably will never happen, however not one to give up I thought I would have a look on eBay to see how much they were selling for (more than I can afford, unless I win the lottery). However at least if I owned one, my dream could come true. I'm sure I would receive a few strange looks running down my high street and people would think I was a little crazy, nothing new there! As I was searching through I came across Logan's torch and all my dreams came true! Unlike the Olympic torches there is only one Logan's Olympic torch and I will be proud to carry it until I pass it on to the next lucky person. GO ON PLACE A BID! GOOD LUCK TO ALL X My husband and I, and his sister are so proud of Logan and have been very humbled with everybody’s kind words of support and generosity. Let’s see if we can between us Raise the £50,000.00 required by the Let's Hear for Deaf Children Campaign to carry on their amazing work! PLEASE ONLY PLACE A BID IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CARRY ON WITH THE RELAY, ALSO UK BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE Also can the winning bidder please contact Logan’s Mum ASAP on 07540 237262 once they have, Many Thanks Follow Logan’s Page on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/#!/logansolympictorch Hearing Dogs Blog - http://www.hearingdogs.org.uk/news/the-dog-blog/logans-olympic-torch-relay If you would like to donate direct to the Just Giving Page for Let’s Hear it for Deaf Children - http://www.justgiving.com/lets-hear-it-for-deaf-children |
