Seiko M516-4009 Voice Recorder Ghostbusters Digital Watch
Any collector of vintage digital watches or avid Ghostbusters fan knows exactly what this item is, how rare it is and what it is worth.
Yo are a bidding on Seiko M516-4009 voice-recorder from 1983, when it was the world's first digital watch to have built in voice record function.
I have handled several of these watches over the years and this is the most pristine, minty fresh example I have ever seen. I would dare to argue that it could possibly be the finest example of its kind anywhere in the world today. The condition is a credit to the previous owners over the years. I want this to go to a good home - to someone who will appreciate it and its pedigree.
The watch has the ability to record two (tone) messages (one each of eight and four seconds) through speaking directly into the built-in microphone. This voice data is actually stored onto two solid state RAM memory modules (16k each). The case itself of this model is special in that it was constructed of carbon-fibre (revolutionary at the time) and stainless-steel. The unit has, in addition to the recording mechanism, the usual features, such as a stop-watch, an alarm, illumination, a day-date display and an hour-chime.
Everything is original, including the bracelet.
All functions work including the light and voice recorder.
The condition overall is excellent with no wear at all.
It still retains the original “passed” quality sticker on the case back.
I will ship anywhere except for Italy.
All sales are final. No returns.
