Skater: Rob Roskopp Designer: Jim Phillips Model: Eye Series 4 - "30 F*ckin Years" Edition Year: 2003 Stamped Number: 535 One of the decks made for Santa Cruz 30th Anniversary Rob Roskopp "By age 18 he was sponsored by Madrid Skateboards and was editor of his own underground skateboarding zine. Through the zine network, Roskopp made friends with skaters on the west coast, and after graduating high school he packed his bags and moved to California. Roskopp quickly ascended into the ranks of skateboard royalty, first by gaining Independent Trucks as a sponsor and subsequently turning pro for Santa Cruz Skateboards in 1983. In 1984 the first Rob Roskopp pro model skateboard came out. The royalties from skateboard sales were enough for Roskopp to quit sweeping floors and skate full time, and he soon found himself traveling the world getting paid to perform skateboard demos." |
