The CNC computerised profile machines used to manufacture our tiles long since replaced the old eggbox roller foam convoluters, and you will now find that all the professional tiles as made by the high end acoustic foam specialists are now CNC cut on computerised foam cutting machines as it gives a much neater finish and far better asthetics to your studio. each tile will match up with one another unlike cheap eggbox tiles where the edges never match up.

Our cnc machines produce a perfectly accurate Pyramid profile this combined with the best polyether acoustic foam grade will maximise the sound absorption and dispersion allowing for far superior sound results. All manufactured in our state of the art 57,000 ft² factory in Oldham Greater Manchester !

Made from a high-grade 25Kg/M3 open cell specialist acoustic foam these Pro acoustic foam tiles are precisely profile cut like no other tiles in this price range.

Why are we so cheap? As the manufacturer we make our margins by selling large volumes and selling direct. we cut out the middlemen and resellers as its these on costs which hype up acoustic foam prices.

Having tested many specialist acoustic foams right up to a 42 KG/M3 density, we have found this particular 25KG/M3 grade to be the best for its wide range of sound absorption properties as it has the right combination of density porosity hardness controlled permeability and open cell structure, which allow the foam to give the optimum in acoustic performance.

It is also a dark grey studio friendly colour which deals with light degradation much better than most others.

One thing you should always look out for is the foams fire retardency. All our foam tiles are made from foam that is certified tested to UL94 HF1 this is a high fire rating the minimum recommended for sound deadening foams. UL 94 HF1 is the most stringent of the UL94 tests.

All our acoustic foam products are rated UL94 HF1 or higher.

In addition our foam will also pass the even higher furniture and furnishings fire safety regulations, Schedule 1 Part 1 of Fire Regs and to BS 5852:Part 2:1982

Suggested Uses

Mixing Rooms and Studios
This pack is made in order to supply you with an out of the box solution to treating the your studio. In order to treat early reflections you will need to apply 2 vertical 2x 3 panels on the left and right wall sides from your mixing position between you and the speakers. And also a horizontal 2x3 panel on the wall behind you and the mixing console . Then a horizontal 2x 3 panel above your mixing position "the cloud" aligned to the two side vertical panels. That's it, now hear the difference the tiles make.

Recording booth
In a recording booth you need to deaden the sound as much as you can start by lining the walls from the waist up. If you have additional foam then cover as much of the booth as you can. Vocals will very rarely reach low frequencies therefore you will not have problems with low frequency and lower frequency treatment such as bass traps will not be needed.

Sound Absorption .
Open cell foam is proven to show good sound absorption characteristics, particularly with the medium to high end of the frequency spectrum. The profile cut structure of these foam tiles and optimally designed profile exhibits a dual action on any incident sound waves. Firstly the sound waves upon hitting the peaks and valleys of the foam panels will get deflected in several directions which will weaken them, Secondly sound waves that penetrate the foam will get absorbed in the cell structure. This double action means that you almost totally eliminate echoes from the top end of the frequency spectrum.

To absorp lower frequency of absorption with foam there is only one answer "THICKER TILES" the thicker tile the more the tile will deal with lower frequencies! Very low frequencies are hard to eliminate and would require gigantic blocks of foam to completely absorb the sound incident applied on them, however with the correct combination of positioning, foam pads and acoustic panels you can reduce lower frequency distortion.
