K&N AIR FILTER FITMENT INFORMATION & GUIDE:

K&N replacement air filters are quick and easy to install. They can be fitted with basic automotive tools and knowledge. You do not usually need a professional mechanic to fit an air filter for you, but if in any doubt at all we kindly ask you to consult an automotive garage , a qualified mechanic or your manufacturer handbook.

The K&N air filter is designed to be a direct replacement for the original standard air filter. It has the same outer dimensions to enable straight forward fitment inside the standard air box. No modifications are required to any engine components or the air intake. Once fitted you do not need to remap the engine, the existing engine management system will take care of any changes in air temperature or flow.

A K&N air filter can usually be fitted in less than 30 minutes. Here is a quick guide that covers most applications:

1) Secure the car on a flat surface and switch off the engine. Open the bonnet and make sure it is safe and secure.

2) Locate the standard air box. It is usually positioned on the right side of the engine on most European cars.

3) Remove the air box securing clips/screws/fasteners. Be careful loosening screws on brittle plastic parts.

4) Undo the air box cover or lid.

5) Remove the standard air filter, noting the orientation of the filter and its position in the air box.

6) Check that the new K&N air filter matches the outer dimensions of the old filter

7) Carefully install the K&N air filter into the air box making sure it's fitted in the exact same place

8) Refasten the air box and make sure it is sealed correctly. Check all air intake pipes if they have been moved.

9) Shut the bonnet and off you go to enjoy the extra performance of the K&N air filter!

1) Secure the car and open the bonnet

2) Locate the standard air box

3) Undo the securing screws to the air box

4) Undo the air box cover/lid

5) Remove the standard air filter

6) Check the new K&N air filter is the right size

7) Carefully install the K&N filter into the air box

8) Redo air box and check all air intake pipes

9) Close the bonnet and off you go!
