the year we aim to provide fantastic plug-plants, at fabulous prices. The sizes of plugs available are dependent
upon variety and season.
We offer plugs in a
range of sizes, as follows:
Mini-plugs – Don’t let the name fool you! These small,
but perfectly formed plugs, termed as “mini” are actually the same size, or
larger, than most suppliers typical plug plants. Perfect for those who wish to purchase
large quantities of plants for a great price and are prepared to grow them on
for a little while longer than our large plugs”. Great for sharing with friends or family,
filling large areas, or selling on once established! Mini-plugs are also the most economical way of
purchasing the more exclusive varieties of plants We are able to offer these
plugs at amazing prices.
Large plugs – These are a great size for potting
on. These plugs
are ideal for those that wish to purchase good quality plugs at great prices,
yet prefer not to wait as long for plants to be garden ready.
Jumbo plugs – These plugs are ideal for those who
prefer to purchase a more established plug-plant. The size of the cells used to
produce these allows for a far more established plug.
RECOMMEND THAT ALL OF OUR PLUGS ARE POTTED INTO 9CM POTS (OR SIMILAR) AND GROWN
ON BEFORE TRANSFERRING TO THEIR FINAL POSITION.
We believe that customers should know
exactly what they can expect to receive. To support this we try to include,
when possible, a real-life picture of plugs from the batch of plants offered
for sale, along with a picture of an established plant. The pictures are to
demonstrate the size of plug (root ball), the amount of top growth and quality
of root system.
Q. The plugs I ordered have more than one plant each. What
should I do?
A. Don’t worry. This sometimes happens when dealing with
particularly small seed. There are a few things you can do. Firstly, just leave
them! It doesn’t hurt the plants in any way at all. Alternatively, you could
always split the plugs to increase your stock. This is usually best to be done
when plugs have had a good soak. Just gently tease the roots apart and pot on
as usual. Or you may prefer to pot on the plugs and wait until the plants are a
little more established before splitting.
Q. I don’t have any 9cm pots to pot on the plugs. Can I use
1 litre pots instead?
A. Absolutely! We recommend using 9cm pots for growing on
only as a guide. It’s all about encouraging and gaining as much root system as
possible to give the plants the best head start that they can receive. If you
are happy to wait for the plants to fill a 1 litre pot, then do so.
Q. I live locally to you. Can I collect?
A. Unfortunately, we are no longer in a position to allow collections
from our nursery.
Q. My plants are great, but you didn’t include growing instructions. Why?
A. All of the necessary growing advice and usually more, is
including within the listing, which you are free to copy and print if you wish.
