As these filters are external, you avoid the need for unsightly equipment being visible in your aquarium to spoil its look. At the same time you benefit from the greater media storing capacity and filtration capability of canister filters compared to internal filters. Water is drawn from the tank and passed through a multi-stage stack of filter trays which combine to provide biological, mechanical and chemical filtration for your aquarium or fish tank. Access to the trays is very simple allowing you to customise your media choices to suit your aquarium and fish stock needs. Once purified, the water is then returned to your tank through an outlet tube with a spray bar to increase the aeration thus helping to ensure that you enjoy clean, clear, and healthy aquarium water from one single, space-saving unit.
The UVF-2200 model includes an integral UVC light. The ultra-violet radiation destroys the bacteria and free-swimming single-celled algae to ensure a healthy living environment for your fish and that your aquarium water is as clear as possible.
