Wonderful 1973 lithograph by Guy Beggs which can be found in the Tate

Image size 23 x 23 cm, signed in pencil and stamped 'Curwen Studio Proof' verso.

Guy Beggs was born in Durban, South Africa in 1947. He studied fine art at Maidstone College of Art, The Royal Academy Schools, and Goldsmiths College, London. In 1973 his first solo exhibition was held at the Leicester Galleries in Cork Street, London and he has continued to show work in mixed and solo exhibitions at home and abroad ever since.

In 1976 he won a D&Ad Silver Award for illustration and later that year The American Graphics Association Silver Award.

In 1978 he held his third solo exhibition at the Piccadilly Gallery, Cork Street, London.

In 1982 he had his first exhibition at Fischer Fine Art, St James', London and a year later with other gallery artists he exhibited in New York for the first time at the Louis K Meisel Gallery.

He is represented by many private and public collections around the world, the nearest being Tate Britain and the Museum of London and the furthest the Auckland Art Gallery, New Zealand.

For many years he successfully combined his fine art practice with a career in education and from 1987 to 1991 was dean of the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art and Design
