AVAILABLE FOR AUCTION IS A GORGEOUS JEWELRY BOX OR CASKET MADE MY THE JENNINGS BROTHERS ART METAL COMPANY AT THE TURN OF THE 20TH CENTURY. THIS BOX HAS A GOLD GILT LOOK TO IT AND I BELIEVE THAT IT EITHER ACTUALLY GOLD OR BRONZE OVER COPPER. THE FINISH IS GOLDEN, BUT I CAN SEE WHAT LOOKS LIKE COPPER SHOWING UNDERNEATH. WHATEVER KIND OF METAL IT IS, IT SURE IS SHINY AND BEAUTIFUL. I THINK THAT THE FLORAL MOTIF IS OF THE POPPY FLOWER. THIS WOULD WORK NICELY WITH THE CRAZE IN EVERYTHING ASIAN THAT WAS HAPPENING DURING THE VICTORIAN ERA. THE BOX MEASURES APPROX. 7" INCHES SQUARE AND SITS 3.5" INCHES TALL. IT IS MISSING IT'S SILK CLOTH INTERIOR AND THE LID NEEDS TO BE SOLDERED BACK TO THE BOX. THE PIN IS STILL ATTACHED, BUT IT IS MISSING A HINGE. THERE ARE STILL SPACES ON THE BOX WHERE THE LID WOULD BE ATTACHED. OTHER THAN THAT, THE BOX LOOKS VERY NICE AND IT'S DESIGN DEFINES THE PERIOD IT WAS MADE.
