Description

A LOVELY VICTORIAN INLAID MAHOGANY CORNER DISPLAY CABINET. WE DATE THIS CABINET TO THE LATE 19th CENTURY.

THE CABINET SITS ON TWO ANGULAR BRACKET FEET AT THE FRONT AND A LARGE BRACKET FOOT AT THE REAR.

THE CABINET IS FITTED WITH AN INTEGRAL STEPPED CORNICE.

THE FRONT OF THE CABINET IS OF SINGLE PANEL DESIGN WITH THE PANEL BEING A RIGHT HAND SIDE HINGED DOOR. THE DOOR IS GLAZED WITH GLASS PANES HOUSED IN WOOD GLAZING STRIPS FORMING A DECORATIVE GEOMETRIC PATTERN. THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR HAS BEADING SUGGESTING A DRAWER AT THE BASE COMPLETE WITH FALSE KEYHOLE. THE FALSE DRAWER FRONT HAS A CENTRAL PANEL VENEERED WITH FINELY FIGURED GRAIN MAHOGANY WITH CONTRASTING DIRECTION GRAIN CROSS BANDING.

THE DOOR IS PROVIDED WITH A WORKING LOCK (KEY SUPPLIED). THE PLAIN SIDES PANELS HAVE A FRAME OF INLAID SATINWOOD  STRINGING AND  ARE ANGLED BACK TO JOIN AT THE REAR.

THE INTERIOR OF THE CABINET IS FITTED WITH THREE FIXED POSITION SHAPED WOODEN SHELVES WHICH SIT ON RAILS ATTACHED TO THE SIDE PANELS. THE TOP OF THE SHELVES ARE LINED WITH RED BAIZE.

THE DISPLAY CABINET HAS A HEIGHT OF 53" A WIDTH OF 30" AND A DEPTH OF 19".

THE DISPLAY CABINET DOOR IS 37.5" HIGH BY 20.5" WIDE. THE INTERNAL SHELVES HAVE A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 26" AND A MAXIMUM DEPTH OF 15" AND PROVIDE 7.5", 8", 9" & 12" OF USABLE SPACE.

THIS LOVELY  VICTORIAN MAHOGANY CORNER DISPLAY CABINET REMAINS IN VERY GOOD SOLID CONDITION WITH ONLY VERY MINOR SURFACE MARKINGS COMMENSURATE WITH AGE AND USAGE.

 THIS REMAINS A VERY STYLISH AND ELEGANT VICTORIAN INLAID MAHOGANY CORNER DISPLAY CABINET WHICH WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE GOOD SERVICE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
