ATTRACTIVE LARGE ENGLISH PEARLWARE CABBAGE LEAF MOULDED FLORAL JUG c1790-1800

A very attractive and unusual late eighteenth/ early nineteenth century English pearlware Cabbage leaf moulded jug c1795-1800.  The jug was highly probably made in Yorkshire or Staffordshire, it is moulded with overlapping cabbage leaves picked out in green, the long sweeping leaves framing panels of flowers, the faceted neck painted with flowers in an according style and crisply moulded further with reversing leaves in a frieze at the top.  There are some similar jugs illustrated within 'Pratt Ware' 1780-1840 by J & G Lewis, this jug stands 8 1/2 inches tall, condition, it has a radial hairline at bottom of neck, a hairline near back on one side (partly going under foot) and other comparatively minor damage as can be appraised in the photographs, this piece displays splendidly. This item was sold by us previously for approx £100, it was purchased by a florist who bought it to display flowers in and returned because if did not hold water.

I will gladly combine items to save on carriage were possible if multiple lots are of interest to the high bidder. I guarantee that the item offered herein is genuine and of the period stated.  All customs paperwork for US & Canadian clients will be executed to ensure that duties and taxes on antiques (items over 100 years old) they have purchased from us are waivered in full as the respective importation laws in those countries legally allows.
