Standard Grade Adjustable
Krieghoff K80 Trap Stock
This came as a spare stock
with my K80 sporter although I have now sold my K80 without it being included
in that transaction. The intention had been to have the option of swapping
specifically set up stocks between sporting / trap disciplines without having
to set up the stock positions (and the consequent possibility of setting up
wrongly) each time although in the end I never got around to shooting trap and
I have never used it.
A quick look at the
Krieghoff UK web site shows broadly similar second hand stocks at £500 - £900
This stock will only fit Krieghoff K80 models - it is the buyers responsibility to ensure that it will fit the intended K80 action.
The stock, without
the pad, is 14 ½ inches measured along the top line and approximately 15 ¾ with
the supplied “Kick-Eeez” Sorbothane recoil pad (http://www.kickeezproducts.com/)
which are sold for around £45.00 (plus fitting) separately. The pad is in good overall
condition with no cuts or gouges and the screw and stock-bolt access points are
all in a similar good condition.
The stock has an
honestly grained closed oil finish and has a fully adjustable comb with all
adjusting screws and grub screws being again in good condition with no damage
to hex heads. The grip is the usual Krieghoff double light palm-swells (the
chequering is in good condition with little wear) which, together with the
adjustable comb, means that a left-handed shooter could find the right
positions as easily as a right-handed shooter. The adjustment is made using a
single standard 2.5m hex-key (not supplied with stock). With the right pad I am
sure that the stock, given its adjustability, could be set up perfectly well as
a sporter and or all-rounder.
There are no cracks
or repairs and the oil-finish has very few even small wear and tear marks. An
extractable (I suspect after-market) stock-bolt is included together with
spacers so that application to the new host action can be made exactly. I am
pretty sure than an experienced shotgun owner will be able to make the initial
fit themselves without any trouble although I am also sure that a
gunshop/gunsmith would be able to do this in a matter of minutes in need.
I am not skilled
enough to measure stocks against the technical criteria of drop at heel, toe
centre etc but if you email me I will give any other measurements that are
within my ability to provide. I have shown a picture against a tape measure to
act as a rough guide.
