I haven't made a proper gold standard lead for it yet, but it works very well in my home studio with the standard one that's included. I walked around the house with it, including downstairs and it suffered no interruptions. There is some background electronic noise, but considering the amount of studio equipment, including 4 monitors, that I run AND that the studio is in the smallest bedroom in the house that's to be expected. I doesn't get your attention much. I think most (maybe all) of that will hopefully disappear when the higher quality gold connection is ready (waiting for delivery of parts). I found that the gain on the unit was ample and did not need to be maxed. Put it into a good standard mixer/powered speaker with plenty of gain of it's own and you should have no particular issues. I will probably buy another soon.Read full review

This wireless system is great in a pinch, but it does need to be connected to a good preamp. Regardless of the audio source it is connected to the output volume on the receiver maxed out is still very low. For example, running this on a dynamic vocal mic I had the gain on the receiver set to max and likewise with the preamp on my mixer, the output volume was acceptable but running a wired connection would have blown my speakers under that amount of gain. The signal comes through fairly clear without too much hiss when it is turned up to an audible level, but that is mostly going to be restricted to the mixer/recorder you connect it to. Through a Mackie VLZ Pro mixer desk itis just about useable, a cheaper mixer will likelyhave a lot of hiss under the level of gain needed to make this useable.Read full review

Very lightweight and therefore not to much trouble to lug around, originally purchased for 'Run 'n Gun' reporting I ended up dedicating it to my Rode NTG-2. The sound quality is not movie stuff but perfect for interviews, the only draw back for using it outside is that its receiver is more suited to camcorder form for mounting purposes but being exceptionally light I use velcro and the last consideration is that you will need a 1/4 " socket adapter.

Bought to update a couple of Shure SM58s from corded to wireless status. Fairly easy to set up but if you buy more than one I suggest you set them up one at a time and turn each on off before setting up the next one as they have a habit of picking up the wrong adaptor during the pairing process. If you fall for that trap then the only way forward is to let the adaptor run flat (they are rechargeable) and start again. All in all, these work very well and have proved to be a useful update for our sound system. Used on several occasions now and always have performed well.
