As a keen F1 fan, this is the sort of book that I like. Although this book was co-written by Maurice Hamilton, it is very much written as if Eddie is speaking to you directly. Like Bernie E, Eddie has come from fairly humble beginnings to have great personal success. He is the sort of guy who will not take no for an answer, especially from his future wife – great story. It covers a period when it was still possible for someone to enter F1 and become competitive, it ends as the corporates moved in and just spent their way into each year but lacked the entrepreneurial zeal that success requires. Eddie comes across as a very loyal Irish nutter. Long may his type endure. The really great thing was that I bought this book via Oxfam; so it was definitely a win-win. Eddie would appreciate that.
