Gerald Grimes ( 1932 – 2011)

A late 20th Century oil on board painting of a Voluptuous Nude Woman seated on a Chaise Longue.

Gerald Grimes was an artist and shop owner working in London in The Portobello Road in the 1960’s.

In generally good condition but with a few minor wear marks this painting is sold un-framed.

The board size is 40.5cms x 50cms. The artist has not signed the painting.

The painting would be shipped in a hand-made wood and hardboard box for protection and insured, there is a small charge in the postage costs to cover packing materials.

Item Description & Additional Photographs

We aim to be very honest in the description of our pieces for sale so that you are aware of any areas of wear and tear at the time of purchase.

We will be happy to supply you with additional photographs of any items, so please contact us with your e-mail address and we will be happy to send them through to you.

Restoration

We do not routinely restore or re-frame our paintings, some have already been restored, but we prefer to let our customers decide if they want to restore an item or leave it in it’s original condition.

Many frames, unless antique, are normally not to a standard customers would expect and due to the added weight for shipping and safety issues (the shipping of glass and it’s potential damage to a painting) we ship un-framed to enable you to frame the item to suit the décor of its surroundings.

Packaging & Shipping

The item that you purchase from us will be in many cases unique and cannot be replaced.  For that reason we send all items in hand-made wood and hardboard boxes or just enclosed in a hardboard surround as we feel this is the best way to protect your purchase.

We therefore add a small charge on to the total postage charge to cover the cost of these materials, but our aim is not to use the postage cost to make money, it’s just to purely cover materials, insurance and the actual Post Office or Courier charges.

The packing is only made after the item is purchased and if the actual materials and postage costs work out to be noticeably different (lower only) to the actual cost quoted we will contact you to advise this and make a refund.

For postage charges to countries outside of the U.K. please contact us prior to bidding for a quote so that you are happy with the charges prior to bidding. We decide which carrier to use to give what we feel is the best service, and for this reason we will not use a cheaper service requested by you, as ultimately any loss or damage to the item will have to be met by our insurers based on how we have shipped and packed the item.

Payment

If you have made a purchase from us but there is another item that you are interested in that is still listed, then please advise us immediately and we will be happy to hold your first item to wait to see if you are successful in your bid for the second item, and if so we will ship the two items together where possible, saving you money on postage and packaging.  If you should be unsuccessful with the bid for the second item then we will take payment for the first and then ship. We are happy to wait for payment if you communicate your intentions to us.

We accept Paypal, UK Sterling Personal Cheque or Cash on Collection.

Returns Policy

We want all our customers to be happy with their purchases from us and if you feel your purchase was in any way not as described in the listing then we will be happy to refund the original purchase price and postage costs.

Please advise us by email within 14 days of the item being dispatched by us that there is a reason for a return and we will be happy to confirm how to proceed. For items being shipped outside of the U.K. we will allow 21 days from date of confirmed shipping from the U.K. to be advised by email of any reason for  the return.

Postage charges to return the item to us are to be borne by the purchaser.
