This auction is for a gorgeous refurbished shabby chic solid wood chest.
This Chest has been heavily restored and brought back to it's former glory. A solid, handmade chest, it has been sanded back to its original wood on the top and coated with 3 coats of danish oil to bring out the natural rich colour of the wood.
The frame and drawers of the chest have been painted with 2 coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Cream but not before an application of Knotting Solution* to stop old varnish bleeding through. After painting the chest was then waxed twice with clear wax.
All of the handles have been replaced with vintage style cup handles in antiqued brass.
The drawers are all dovetailed and the chest is of a very solid construction (please see photos). All drawers are smooth running. They feature cute lock details.
Would make an excellent addition to any bedroom or possibly a nursery. I have included photographs of the chest before restoration to show the work that has been completed.
This chest has been a labour of love and many hours have been put in to make it a piece that will look great in any home :o)
