Item specifics

Seller notes: Antique 19C Victorian carved walnut spoon back nursing or parlour chair. Quality, attractive chair, with no loose joints or wobbles. Lovely legs with period brass and ceramic castors on the rear. The two front castors have been replaced with period brass examples (some wear to all castors as you would expect). Great proportions and styling, which would look amazing in the right location. The seat upholstery is recent, with no appreciable wear and only minor marks. The fabric is a lovely golden cream velvet dralon. Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. Historical repairs, as is the norm, but all is solid now. We have not inspected components concealed beneath the upholstery, but the seat is quite soft but comfortable without the typical lumps and bumps of an antique chair. There are some historical woodworm holes, which are believed extinct, that we have treated for good measure.

If you require an urgent or 2 man delivery please call 07866 705199 or email mark@priorandwillis.co.uk, as we are likely to be able to organise this for you (usually at additional cost).

Terms of Sale

Antique furniture is old and we have done our best to describe any major faults. The buyer should expect imperfections such as shrinkage cracks/gaps, slight warping, repairs to structure and veneers, extinct woodworm holes and surface wear/marks/repairs that are consistent with age. These features are to be expected on genuine antiques and add to their character and historical honesty. It is quite usual also for handles, drawer bottoms/runners, feet and other component parts to be worn or replaced over the years. Unless otherwise stated there is unlikely to be a key and the locks may or may not exist/work. Please call 07866 705199 or email before buying and we will send additional photos and do our best to describe the item honestly. This is always a good idea. Even better you are welcome to come and view the item before buying. Just call us on 07866 705199 or email mark@priorandwillis.co.uk for an appointment. We offer a full refund excluding our delivery costs, providing you return the item (at your expense) to us in its original condition within 30 days of receipt.
