Antique Edwardian Era Black Silk Dress with Silk Cream color 2-layer front Blouse Inserts. This dress is all one piece although there are 3 different segments.
No labels - hand made
circa 1910 - the Arts & Crafts Era
Blouse: Bust = 36", Waist = 28", Shoulder width 14.5", Sleeve Length = 14.5", Overall Top Blouse Length = 17".
Skirt: Waist = 28", Hips = 40", Overall Dress Length = 48"
Check out these measurements against one of your dresses that fits well - a professional seamstress cannot make this dress larger. (However, it could be taken in.)
Closures: The inner cream blouse layer closes with hooks & eyes. The outer cream blouse layer closes with snaps. The waist of the dress opens and closes with snaps around the waist.
Condition: good antique condition - Notice the pictures show that one of the lengths of ruffles needs to be resewn onto the left side of the dress. There is some discoloration to the cream blouse area. The buttons on the cream blouse area may need to be tightened. There are some spots so the dress will need to be cleaned and pressed.
Wear this to your next museum party...or perhaps your theatre group or historical society needs this dress.
