Instructions for use:

The cleaning and the removal of the finishing are required before application. Clean with a cloth soaked in Tarrago Preparer. For synthetic leather: Apply Tarrago Preparer with a cloth. Stir the dye container with the application brush until the colour is completely homogeneous. To change the colour, cover scuffs or wear, apply a small amount of product to a sponge and spread a very fine first layer evenly on the surface. Let dry. Apply one or two more very fine layers until the desired finishing is achieved, allowing it to dry between layers. Optimal drying time is around 12 hours

BELOW ARE SOME HELPFUL HINTS BASED ON USING A TARRAGO DYE KIT TO CHANGE THE COLOUR OF SMOOTH LEATHERS.

All smooth leathers need to be prepared for the dye process even brand new as these will have waxes and glaze from manufacture all of which will stop good adhesion and penetration of the dye

I have found the best way to clean the leather is to use a scotch-brite and water initially.

Then when the surface colour has been removed then allow too dry. The leather should now be totally matt finish and any really rough areas can be sanded with a fine sand paper.

Do not be too harsh with the scotch brite you are only trying to establish a key for the dye.

Using a clean cloth wipe over with the cleaning liquid. This will remove any final traces of grease or contaminates.

I use a normal child’s type paintbrush to apply the dye to stitching and any other seams that would be difficult with the sponge. Then load the sponge with dye using a circular motion to apply.

Establish a thin coat over the leather and allow to dry before the next coat.

Touch in any area with the brush as needed such as edges, seams, stitching etc. then apply second coat.

Apply as many coats as needed (usually 3 thin coats) to achieve an as new finish. Clean brush and sponge with soap & water. Keep spare dye to touch in damaged areas in the future.

If you have an airbrush this dye is suitable for spraying.
