Antique Style Golden Teal Green Embroidered Silk 1920s Gatsby Flapper Cloche Hat

Vintage Style absolutely gorgeous golden, teal and peach pure silk brocade with an exquisite antique embroidered and beaded silk band 1920s Flapper Cloche Hat--this one is VERY lushly decorated and reminds me of old Byzantine/Russian medieval designs...Like all of my hats, this one is exquisitely hand made from authentic 1920's patterns, absolutely sumptuous pure silk materials and lavish antique trimmings....yet so wearable today....this one looks soooo incredibly vintage as all the trim on the band & brim is antique/vintage and the colors/tones are all deliciously subtle yet extraordinarily rich....a perfect Gatsby garden party/Gatsby Summer Afternoon or Art Deco party cloche! And, this hat is especially wonderful for the chemo patient as it fits closely to the head and looks soooo feminine and glamorous....everyone will ask "WHERE did you get that, it's so gorgeous!"....The success of my antique inspired jewelry has inspired me to take my artistic vision even further into all of the creative areas I've worked in and adored for so long.....

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....Am now translating that love to my own contemporary creations and using all the fine extraordinary antique and vintage materials, laces, trims, beads etc that I've collected for more than 30 years in these wonderful wearable pieces....along with the finest of hand sewing and one of a kind details. Everything I create is individually hand made solely by me and has the very best of my carefully hoarded private stash of superb old accents (I use ONLY vintage materials that are in pristine condition---no deteriorating, too-aged or rotting pieces EVER) plus the finest of modern silks, cottons and wools that I can find.....resulting in a fabulous truly authentic vintage look piece. Impeccable professional workmanship and design are the hallmarks here...

This exquisite beauty of a cloche, which is one of my most popular styles, is taken directly from a 1928 pattern. It is made of very lush and shimmering silk brocade that has an elaborate embroidered Byzantine/Persian woven design done in soft shades of gold, pale teal and pale peach....this is augmented with a band of absolutely luscious, luminous rare antique silk that is lavishly HAND embroidered in silk and metallic thread, plus tiny golden glass beads, pearls and iridescent sequins...the handwork on this just has to be seen to be believed, it is all the most tiny and intricate stitching and the beadwork/sequinwork adds a most wonderful glimmer where it catches the light....Top and bottom of this gorgeous embroidered band is edged with dainty handmade antique golden-ecru silk trim. At the side is an elongated appliqued motif of more of the antique embroidery, antique metallic trim, and two marvelous handmade Czech glass buttons in luminous teal green with an etched and raised design in black and gold. The brim edge is bound with iridescent sea green silk augmented with a row of antique 1920's metallic scalloped trim on the underside..... just utterly beautiful details that take one's breath away. The fabric is just shimmeringly exquisite, the beautiful soft accents make this piece look extraordinarily vintage and ALL of the exterior decoration including the individual decorative elements, are painstakingly sewn on by hand, just as in the "old days".....I'm a stickler for primo "old school" workmanship! Fully lined in finest pure silk.....This one is a medium size and made from VERY choice rare materials in my collection.....So perfect for someone who has undergone chemo too, as this is a very comfortable hat....I think everyone has the right to be beautiful--- and this would be a great gift for someone who needs that little lift and to feel so pretty....! Also a great piece for anyone to wear to a Great Gatsby, Downton Abbey or Art Deco vintage themed event, garden party or reenactment...this is as authentic and historically correct as it gets :-) Looks fabulous with the brim worn up or down, though I think it's best up to show off the lovely underside vintage trimming.

Please make sure you carefully note proper head measurements: I've made this particular hat to fit up-to-medium sizes, it measures approx. 24" inner circumference so I would say up to a size 23/23 1/4" head could wear this, any larger than that and it would probably be too snug for real comfort, I have a 22.5 size head and this fits me nicely and perfectly....PLEASE NOTE that these hats are NOT adjustable or alterable so please do know your exact requirement before purchasing as there are no refunds or returns. Good idea to take your head measurement first--tapemeasure crossed over the forehead and just above the ears around to the largest part of the head--before purchasing. The 1920's cloche is meant to be a close fitting hat and hairstyle should kept to a minimum for the proper look....... Half an inch in headsize CAN make a difference so please, make sure you have exact size requirements in hand before you buy. If there is a specific size requirement you're looking for do let me know, and I will keep that in mind when creating future styles.....I don't do custom work or alterations, sorry!
