Slitting Armaflex Tubes

Always slit the Armaflex tubes in a straight line before placing them onto the pipe for installation, the trademark can be used as a cutting guideline. If the cut is straight, it will allow for the joint to look more professional, as well as increase the performance of the 520 adhesive when gluing the joint together. Always remember, when slitting larger OD tubes that are oval shaped, and not perfectly round, cut the tube down the flat side only. This will insure that the joint is closed tightly and evenly when applying the 520 adhesive. If the oval tubes are cut down the side, and not on the flat side, the inside of the glued joint may open up and will result in joint failure.

Every carton of Armaflex has a cutting template on the side of the carton. The template can be used as a guide for cutting Armaflex tube fittings. The carton can be used as a work surface or the template can be cut out and used for future use.
