The first one arrived with a slightly offset cantilever. This resulted in a noticeable reduction in the output of one of the channels. The second one, sourced from a different supplier, appears to be fine. There is excellent clarity, space around the musicians, good soundstage, possibly still a little bright for some people and systems (but it has only just been fitted), bass is well balance and firm. But it should be noted that it needs a high end system to get the best out of it.

Wasn't really sure what to expect? Have been using a good mm cartridge until now with this being the final part of a turntable upgrade which consists of Linn Lp12 sondeck carbon. The detail and stereo focus instantly notable and the depth of bass notes extended. Well made and good looking!

My trusty Goldring 1042 started to sound not run and I knew it was over after the 1006 stylus sounded better. The 1042 is a great rock cartridge, so I was a bit worried changing it for a moving coil. The Audio Technica didn't disappoint however. I use a Thicord Dino 3 with Linn/Ittok II. Great detail, better sound vocals and instruments, more bite, fast dynamics, clarity and punch. Negatives, needs careful matching as won't suit an already bright system. Great for the money and a great and affordable way to go moving coil if you have an mc phono stage.
