This is an unbelievably rare pressing of the White Album - a U.K. Parlophone EXPORT press on the ULTRA RARE ONE BOX Parlophone Label! Most probably produced in an even smaller run than the YellowBlack Parlophone release, this press virtually never comes on the market.

This ultra-rare 1969 UK Parlophone EXPORT SECOND PRESS on Silver/Black one-boxed Parlophone Label has the correct first press TOP Opening Flip back cover, comes with While Hamilton collage poster as well as the four John Kelly portraits, along with the original Black die-cut inner sleeves and the orriginal export vinyls, that were printed with the White Album 1st Press Matrix numbers. To close the "circle of authenticity proof", run out has incredibly low 1-digit number-ONLY 7 / 2 / 3 / 3 stampers at the 8 o'clock position.

First designed for export on the standard Parlophone Yellow and Black label in 1968, a second press was produced in 1969 on the "iconic" and transitional Silver/Black one-boxed label. These One-Box pressings were printed in the U.K. for the export market, meant for countries such as "The Republic of Ireland", Sweden, and the United States. In the meantime, Apple was being set up and the license was gained to sell the White Album abroad under Apple in (with very few exceptions like Spain and Southern America) virtually every place of the world.
The estimated amount needed for the export market was low, as it was uncertain how long the legalities would take to sort out, with around 300 to 400 copies being printed in the U.K. - as the license was a achieved, and Export labels no longer needed, making any existing export pressings unbelievably rare as they ended up being produced in such small numbers.

This is the ORIGINAL U.K. EXPORT 2nd pressing from 1969! It comes with in an original U.K. TOP opening "numbered" FULLY laminated Flip back "Garrod & Lofthouse", having "Stereo" printed on reverse side, with a relatively high first press number # 418,502, which is perfectly corresponding to its export date.
U.K. first press matrix numbers are YEX 709-1, YEX 710-1, YEX 711-1 & YEX 712-1, only found on UK pressings.
As, in the late 1960s, "reserved" to EXPORT pressings, records were pressed on thick, heavy vinly, where disc # 01 has 165 grams, and disc #02 160 grams, respectively.

Conclusion for this copy:
  • 2nd Press EXPORT
  • Silver/Black one-boxed Parlophone Label
  • "THE GRAMOPHONE Co..." perimeter rim text
  • "UNAUTHORISED..." perimeter rim text
  • BIG ("P") 1968 on labels
  • -1 / -1 / -1 / -1 Matricies
  • low 7 / 2 / 3 / 3 8 o'clock 1-digit "numbers-only" stampers
  • fully laminated TOP Opener
  • original Black die-cut inner sleeves
  • genuine STEREO cover
  • # 418,502 correpsonding to 1969 export date
  • 165g (disc #01) / 160g (disc #02) thick, heavy vinyls
Please see grading details for a more elaborate description of the record's condition.

1st Class Packaging

We are Collectors, hence every record is stored (and will be sent) in a sophisticated way. Many experienced collectors were thrilled by our unique, bullet-proof "packing technicque". Original cover, inner sleeve(s), prospective inserts, and/or whatever may come across, are stored separately. The vinyl sits in a neutral antistatic, padded inner sleeve, which is housed in a stable, neutral cardboard cover. Package is protected by one (or more) transparent plastic sleeves. Finally, all items are being wrapped with thick bubble foil and go to a professional record mailer, which is then being properly sealed with water-resistant tape.

For packaging, we use brand-new material & items only.

(PLEASE NOTE that pictured record is an EXAMPLE only. It is NOT the item up for auction. Thank you.)

We use superb vinyl equipment with its heart being an Ortofon real-diamond system and gold plated contacts all around.
If available, audible checks were performed with an ORTOFON Pro-Ject Audio system connected to a DENON PMA 520-AE amplifier, using a Sennheiser 350 headset.
Remarks   As for the Cover and related issues, please refer to pictures provided right after. Spine is in a 100 percent perfect condition.
The fully laminated cover is completely glossy, made of strong cardboard. Absolutely clean insertion slot, no cuts, nothing. Perfect gate-fold inside. Scuffed edges, lill ring wear, something yellows.
Labels are in a very good condition, no writings, tears, or cuts. Some spots as well as spindle hole wear.
Vinyl: Album has been frequently played. Hairlines on both discs, Side C has some marks, however, none of this affecting sound in a dramatic way.

Regarding audio, plays perfectly thru, no jumps, or skips. Powerful sound, great channeling, very clear, even in thigh tunes. A straight EXCELLENT grading.

Please keep in mind that an opinion is bound to be subjective. Refer to pictures, provided extensively.
For a short explanation of applied grading, please see remarks on every listing's bottom of page.
