My clearout continues! you're bidding for:
BEATLES Yellow Submarine First Press Stereo vinyl LP EX/VG+ PCS 7070
cat no: PCS 7070 matrix: YEX 715-1 YEX 716-1 stampers: 1 GA 1 O
The original vinyl is in amazing shape, visually stunning, lovely and glossy with hardly any marks at all, it's the best copy I've seen of this LP. I'm pretty sure it's also a really early copy, the matrix numbers are 1/1 and the stampers are pretty early too at 1 GA and 1 O.
Both labels grade as EX with no marks or writing and only light spindle wear, both with the Sold in the UK text. The orig black inner is VG+ with light wear and creases.
When played it sounds great, but there are a few moments of light crackle, generally at the start of each side.
The sleeve is in good shape too, all the flip backs are in tact and it has the two horizontal red lines on the back sleeve (unlaminated) which distinguish a first press sleeve. The sleeve has light ring wear on the front and light rubbing to 2 corners and along the open edge. The sleeve text is still nice and clear with only minor creases. The unlaminated rear cover has a couple of areas with slight discolouration and frustratingly a blue ink smudge in the middle of the text (see pics) it's not that big but it does detract a little. Overall a really strong copy of a pretty rare first press.
