Bought this as I have a very slow broadband speed being at the end of a long rural line. My service provider's router was giving a poor and intermittent connection dispite my many complaints. This device is brilliant! I had to spend some time on the setting up and tweeking with help from Google searches but all well worth it. No more fluctuations and drop outs. I can not expect a fast connection but I now have steady and reliable. I am still adjusting it for speed but am about 50% faster than the provider's modem already. The wireless connection is also considerably more powerful. Highly recommended. Oh yes, some reviews say it's appearance is more suited to an office than a home. This is a matter of taste. I know that some people prefere a small Klingon wardship sitting in their lounge but I like the Billion's functional appearance.Read full review

Physically is solid built. Look sturdy and a little bit big compare to some other routers. I use this unit to bridge my DSL line to pfsense router. Capable of changing SNR value which is a good point. So far may dsl line running without hicups.

As an it network engineer just thrown out 7 installations of flagship model tp-link wd8960n after all showing symptoms of failure after 9 months fitted within last 18 months. Replaced by this baby, These are in a class of their own, all problems have gone away, the internet is stable and rock solid no more resetting, simple easy menu config, the wireless signal spread is excellent, 4 x Gig ports, ADSL/Ethernet port best of both worlds therefore will accept either Virgin Broadband or BT interface.
We bought this router as an upgrade to the router our ISP sent to us. Since using the Billion we have had no problems with our wireless printer and it has not dropped the connection at all. Does what it says on the box and fast too. I found it easy to set up. No problems connecting devices to it, I connect up to 50 laptops a week to the Billion with no problems. If it had Dual Channel to include the 5ghz it would be the perfect router. Worth the extra cost for the reliability and stable connection.
After years of various different routers both in our business and at home and experiencing constant drop out I eventually went for a Billion in the shop 10 months ago and it has never missed a beat servicing 3 computers and 3 smart phones. I have been through 3 BT routers at home and replaced the home hub 3 with a Billion and once again perfect. If you need help setting up call the London number in the handbok and a real person talks to you in London. Excellent!!!!!
