1953 BMW R 51/3 - Museum Quality Restoration
Very rare motorcycle in perfect condition. The restoration was done in Germany by a retired BMW engineer and has only 50KM on the restored engine and is still to be fully run-in. The bike is 'as new' essentially and has been restored to the very highest standards. The restoration process was comprehensive and nothing has been spared - to the most exacting detail.
SImply put, this is a work of art and a piece of engineering jewelry. In my view one of the most beautiful classic bikes around and drives very well for a bike of this age. German engineering at its very best in 1953!
The bike comes with a new spare PEGASU rear seat (see photo) which is my addition which bolts on in a few seconds on to the baggage rail and I have put new rear foot pegs on for a passenger. It is, of course, matching numbers, comes with workshop manual, driver log book and various spares (including a spare key). German registration documents for eventual re-registration in country of eventual use.
I purchased the bike for 13,000 EU just before Christmas this year and it was professionally transported to my house in Provence in France and has been garaged and not yet registered in France. It is still technically registered in Germany although I have it insured in France (off the road). An unexpected overseas move for a few years (work transfer) means I am selling the bike as I don't want it to gather dust. It needs to be used and driven and enjoyed. It has been turned over regularly and driven around the village and obviously kept clean, in a dry and dust-free garage.
I am happy to help ship the bike anywhere worldwide although it will be the buyers responsibility to organize a shipper/transporter. I will of course help in the process. It is available for inspection in Provence and I can arrange access if I am not there in person.
Serious buyers only please no time wasters. Please feel free to ask me any questions by email and if serious we can exchange phone numbers to discus the bike in detail. I have 370 Ebay transactions with 100% record.
Flexible on payment terms (GBP or EU), however a deposit of 200 GBP is required by PAYPAL and cleared funds before collection.
