Hello and welcome to Beach Babies Reborn & OOAK Nursery! My name is Kimberly McClung and I am the sole artist behind each and every Beach Baby. I am thrilled to introduce you to one sweet and precious tiny little wonder named Rylynn. She is a baby wood elf. She is from a very adorable tiny micro-preemie sized fairy reborn kit; the limited edition "Rose Fairy" sculpt by the extremely talented Shawna Clymer. Her sculpt faces are all so sweet! And her fairy sculpts are amazing. Especially this little tiny one! She is so detailed! There will never be another quite like little Rylynn and I am extremely proud of how she came out! She would make a delightful addition to any serious collector's nursery especially those who enjoy micro preemies or minis. She would make a lovely boy OR girl too and I would be happy to send her home as either...
~~From Doll Kit To Baby~~
~In The Beginning....~
Little Rylynn began on her journey to becoming a reborn baby doll several months ago when I received her as a blank vinyl kit. When I was ready to begin several weeks ago I washed her parts in warm water with a mild vinyl soap. Then I began the process of painting her with Genesis and Authentic Reborn Heat Set Artist's Oil Paints which never rub off, chip or fade and, if treated properly, this paint will stand the test of time. I applied this special paint in many many thin layers using several tried and true techniques I have developed over time until I had built up a very lightly mottled Caucasian infant skin tone with lots of depth and veining. I prefer a "peaches and cream" clear skin tone for all my babies and it worked very well for little Ry. Over a period of several days she had all of her paint layers to include the flesh, light mottling, veining, and blushing as well as her nails shaded and very lightly tipped(not stark thick white!). She was given all the sweet little details that make hand made dolls stand out head and shoulders above factory-made dolls. No detail was overlooked. She was then sealed with Genesis Matte Sealer for protection and to prevent shine. Then she was given 2 thin layers of glaze to her lips to resemble moisture and even one to each of her nails to make them look smooth but not real glossy like real nails are.
She was re-born(assembled) on July 6th at 11:45am PST weighing in at approx. under a pound and about 7" in length. She was put together on a super cuddly jointed doe suede body that was made just for this kit with 3/4 arms and full legs which increases what she can wear and look natural. She is quite pose-able as you can see in her pictures. Her body is stuffed with tiny poly pellets and a wee bit of polyfill and her head and limbs are full of very fine glass beads and topped with polyfill and then sealed closed to prevent any possibility of leakage. I left her slightly floppy which gives her a "sink-in-your-arm" feel and makes posing her a snap. Her head will definitely need support when holding her too. She also has some tiny Wonder Wafers bits inserted in her body which give her a very light sweet baby powder scent just to add an extra touch of "realism". She is very cuddly and totally loveable. You are not going to want to put her down! Ever. She wears size 7"-9" the best depending on the pattern and who made it. She does have magnets installed in her head for a hairbow. She uses a pacifier with putty. These are strong Rare Earth magnets and care should be taken around things such as DVD's, CD's, credit cards and computer memory cards(just in case).
**My home is NON SMOKING and 2-cat friendly but the cats are very elderly and have little use for investigating my dolls at their age so they are not an issue. Plus my doll studio is in another building away from the house. :)
Rylynn's hair has been very finely micro-rooted in beautiful straight light fawn and medium brown premium mohair hand processed by Carolyn of sugargliderUS. I directionally rooted her hair 1 hair a time with 42 and 43 ga forked needles which made her hair very natural looking. It is tremendously shiny and is the best fiber available on the market today in my opinion. Her hair is lots of fun to play with too and it looks best if styled with leave in conditioner and then sprayed with hairspray or mousse to make it lye flat against her head. It took about a week on and off to complete since she is so tiny. It has been sealed on the inside twice so as long as you are gentle and never tug you will be able to brush it and style it to your hearts content and it will last and last.
Rylynn is a sleeper and I gave her lightly painted/drawn barely there preemie eyebrows with Prismacolor Artist's Pencils and lightly rooted tiny eyelashes to match her hair.
She will come home with almost everything in the pictures: Her layette will include at least 3 complete little outfits, a lovey toy, a blankey, a putty pacifier, a brush/comb set, magnetic hair bows, a tiny baby bottle, little diapers, her birth certificate, COA from Shawna Clymer and signed care instructions from my nursery. Anything else is props and not a part of this listing.
* Rylynn, like all of my dolls, is meant for the adult collector and older child/teen exclusively and not for very young children as she has small parts that may pose a choking hazard to small unattended children. I don't recommend any of my babies for children under 10 as they are works of art and not for playing. I make "playborns" for younger children on occasion but this is not one of them. That is, of course, up to you the parent, to decide this though.
I am not the best photographer in the world but as I do with all of my dolls I tried to take pictures showing their details as clearly as possible in realistic situations and poses so please enjoy her pics! These photos were taken at all times of day and night over a period of about 12 hours with variations of my studio lighting and outdoors in Rylynn's "natural" environment to bring out her details as much as possible which is why you may notice a difference in her coloring from one pic to the next. If you need to see any particular part of her I would be happy to take more photos and send them to you. Just ask!
**Remember, Rylynn is a reborn art doll and there will never ever be another just exactly like her. Even though she is made from a kit and is a reborn doll she's a OOAK in her own special way so you won't see another just like her. So if this lil' peanut tugs at your heartstrings then don't miss your chance to bring her home. :)
I will be happy to send Rylynn home as a boy instead if the winner prefers. I will just need to know as soon as the auction is over so I can get her layette together as a boy.
~*~*~Now please enjoy her photoshoot!~*~*~
I am very proud of this award!
My Winning Doll 2013
IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!!!
I accept paypal as per ebay rules and because it is the safest way to exchange money for goods on the internet but am flexible on that as far as postal M.O.'s. I use USPS Priority shipping for all of my dolls and for my OOAK clay babies I use USPS Express in larger boxes to allow for the bubble wrap. I use insurance and signature confirmation as well. I pay for the insurance myself as it protects us both.
I DO accept layaway on dolls over $500 on a case by case basis and at my discretion.
*VERY IMPORTANT!! I require a message from the buyer within 24 hours of an auction's end if payment has not been received. ***IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK PLEASE MESSAGE ME FIRST BEFORE YOU BID!!! ~ALSO VERY IMPORTANT!!!*** If you don't message me first and don't answer a message from me I will regrettably have to cancel your bid. I welcome bidders from around the world and all of my dolls are made with only the finest man made materials and state of the art reborning supplies and the clothing and accessories that accompany the dolls home are always new unless they are vintage or rare items such as antique gowns. So customs is never a problem although if overseas you are responsible for your customs fees and duties in your respective country. Please don't ask me to send as a gift because that is illegal and it would require I send the doll without any insurance and I just can't do that as unfortunately sometimes things do go missing or become damaged in transit. Please also remember I make nothing on the shipping since I almost always use ebay's shipping calculator and often it is wrong and I have to make up the difference myself so when leaving feedback please remember none of the money from shipping goes to me. I strive for 5-star feedback each and every time but I also do not give refunds for buyer's remorse or any other reason than my negligence or a gross misrepresentation of my dolls which as you can see will not happen since I always include so many full-color and clear photos and welcome and encourage any questions to be asked at any time before you bid and win my auctions. Thank you for keeping this in mind. Just please be sure of your purchase. I also open NPB cases without hesitation when I get a buyer who refuses to answer messages and who does not pay so if you happen to be one of those buyers who is not here to shop legitimately and just to play games then please just pass my listing on by. It will save us both a lot of headaches.
*Also if you are interested, I do custom dolls and I am always listing a new doll every week or so if this baby is not your cuppa tea, keep an eye out as I might just eventually list your dream baby! Thank you so much!
Thanks for visiting my nursery, please come again! :)
