Shabby Chic Furnishings
It is important to know what Shabby Chic style furniture means, and you should always check what to expect before you buy as Shabby Chic is not a new piece of furniture, it is pre-loved items which have been refurbished and remodelled in a different style but to serve the same purpose. The items you see created through Vale View Chic are used items with character, style and elegance, each with their own story to tell, this includes small scratches and dings to some aspects of the item. This style of furniture is mainly created with a distressed look and feel about it. Over time it is you as a family that shapes its future, whether you keep it looking the same since it left us, or whether you use it regularly and knock it the odd time which all adds to its Shabby Chic Finish making it your own, you may see similar pieces but there is no other item identical to the last.
Our Paint Selection
We use only quality furniture paints which are all 100% genuine hand painted pieces. We use Autentico Pure and Natural Paints which are fantastic for the job! We are official stockists of this paint so if you have a question then just ask as we have many colours in stock!
These paints are perfect for creating a high quality furnishing which will last for many years to come. All of these paints are very very low in VOC content so they are very environmentally friendly.
Please note that we state the colour used on each piece of furniture. The true colour may vary slightly on photos due to certain lighting whether a piece of furniture is pictured outside or inside.
We are able to store your new piece of furniture if needed, i.e moving into a new house. If you would like your item storing it/they must be paid for in full. Items can be stored for a maximum of 4 weeks (starting after the auction end) If you would like a longer period of time to store your furniture please get in contact with us for arrangements. Any items that have been stored and are no longer required will be subject to a non refundable charge of 10% of what the item sold for.
Delivery & Returns
For a delivery quote please get in touch with your postcode and we will get back to you as soon as possible (normally within 2 hours). This is a one man delivery, you must have someone to help unload. Please allow up to 14 working days for delivery. Before delivery can be booked please supply the full delivery address along with 2 contact numbers. You will receive a call from the courier company giving you a date and a 2 hour time slot for delivery. unfortunately as this is a separate company we do not know when the courier will be in contact, nor do we know any delivery dates. If you are using this delivery service please make sure you are flexible with dates and times. If you agree to a date and time and are not home when the courier arrives the furniture will be returned to us, unless otherwise discussed. This will incur a further delivery charge if no agreement can be reached with the items being returned back to us or to the courier holding area.
You are welcome to collect any of our items, please contact us to arrange a date and time slot should you wish to collect your item.
It is best that you are there yourself to accept and check your goods. If somebody else signs for your goods they may not be aware of this guidance and may sign for something with a problem. If you cannot be there please make sure the person signing knows this guidance.
Please check that you have the correct number of items by reconciling with the couriers delivery note. We will put stickers or write your postcode and item number on each item. Please look out for these and check it is correct.
The goods must be checked thoroughly. Damaged packaging could mean damaged goods. If the packaging looks in good condition you can sign for the goods with no amendments to the delivery note. If the packaging/goods are damaged then you need to take action. You have two options; 1) If you feel that it is just the packaging that is damaged but are not certain if the goods are damaged, you must write 'damaged' on the couriers delivery note before signing. If you do not write 'damaged' on the delivery note you will have to stand the cost of any damage yourself. If you have written 'damaged' the courier will stand the cost of any damage. Should you find that it is just the packaging that is damaged you must follow up with the courier on the date of delivery of your findings and give this information to the courier. Failure to do this on the date of delivery could result in your claim being refused. If you find that your goods have been damaged upon delivery and have written 'damaged' on the couriers delivery note you will need to contact us with as much information as you can provide with at least 5 pictures of the damage in question, this information must also be passed onto the courier service. We accept no liability to any goods that have not been checked upon delivery that are damaged. Any false claims will be disregarded. 2) If you feel the goods are damaged beyond your satisfaction you can decline to sign the delivery note and let the courier return the goods to us.
In the unfortunate event that you have received damaged goods please contact us (details are at the bottom of the page). We will then organise for the courier company to collect the item/goods. Once the item/goods have been returned back to us, we will check it and carry out any necessary repairs should the damage be repairable. As this is second hand furniture you could experience a delay in receiving the goods back because of the repair time and scheduled re-delivery date/time. Should you want to return the damaged item back to us for a refund, you will receive a refund of the item only. any courier charges must be are to be paid in full before collection of the item can be arranged from you.
NOTE; We can only resend out your goods if you have declared the item 'damaged' on the couriers note. We reserve the right to refuse or charge for replacements if these steps have not been followed.
When you purchase your item you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions. Returns are only accepted in the most extreme cases (e.g broken parts). You have 7 days from receipt to get in contact with us to discuss your issue. Any item which is/has been found to have been tampered with (i.e Defacing the surface and layers of paint) will not be accepted for a return. Items that leave us are inspected thoroughly before dispatch. Please note, items which are kept in storage over 7 days do not qualify for any return as you are buying second hand furnishings. If you are send an unwanted item back to us, we will refund the item only. Any courier charges are to be paid in full before collection of the item can be arranged.
Terms and conditions
Table tops must not be misused. We will take no liability for any damage inflicted on the item due to misuse. Chairs must not be misused i.e. sitting on two legs, standing on seat base etc. We cannot be held responsible for misuse and will not give any refunds/help or work to those items that have been misused and uncared for. If you do have any problems with your furniture we must be provided with at least 5 pictures of the problem in question. We will then draw up our own conclusion to the opened case. We offer no warranty on any items of our furniture as they are second hand items. All items must be checked over before signing the proof of delivery (please read 'Delivery & Returns'). Any damages must be reported to the delivery driver and then ourselves upon the date of delivery. Any enquiries made later than this may be disregarded. It is important to inform both the driver and ourselves about any damage as this allows us to follow up with the courier company to gather accurate information about your claim.
