Seem built to take a few knocks. The range isn't as far as stated in the product details (however experience suggests the range of these types of units is never as far as advertised, so I expected this), but these actually hold up pretty well compared to the cheaper units I've had in the past. Call quality is nice and clear. The only real issue is that channel selection isn't as easy as it could be, with three different "tiers" of settings to get all the advertised channels. I also found setting the dual watch function (where the radios monitor two channels for a signal) a bit fiddly to set up but very useful once done. All in all I'm pleased with the units. We bought them so we could talk between two cars whilst travelling on holiday, and for this use they work well.

Nice and easy to use. Got distance of about 300m built up area. You would be lucky to get 1 mile in open area. About 100m if you're driving. If you want to use in the limited range they are clear , but I suppose so would a can and string!

All good . Arrived quickly and an improvement on the previous Binatone 550 which we had had for many years. This one has far more channels which can reduce the possibility of people listening in or cross use with taxi firms etc. We use it on the river when travelling with another boat and for communication between the two boats it is excellent. I have owned this particular model for many years and would still but my partner left one out in the rain for a week and so I had to buy a new pair. They are very similar to my old ones but have been updated and are, if anything, easier to use. Because my hobby, at least one of them, is the restoration of very old motorcycles and motorcars, in my workshop at the bottom of my garden,these Radios are essential if I am to miss a long wheelchair drive in the rain. They are absolutely invaluable at car shows and exhibitions too, where I tend to wander around a bit in my powerchair. Because I live in a large house in the country, with sitting rooms and reception rooms on several floors, these walkie-talkies mean that I do not have to negotiate stairs and steps, to call my staff. They are just a buzz away and those calls are free too. Super, wonderful and lovely, product which better not break after this glowing review.Read full review
Can't fault these in any way. Charge seems to last, work crystal clear over a long range, just wished I'd bought four. The quality surprised me versus my perception of Binatone. Five stars out of five.
