A CD-ROM containing 4 digital Ordnance Survey maps dated 1893, 1921, 1933 & 2011 - see pictures below

     The older maps are full-size 400dpi colour scans of old Ordnance Survey 1:2,500 scale (25 inches to the mile) County Series sheets.

     The 2011 map, scaled at 1:10,000, approx. 6 inches to the mile, is adapted from modern Ordnance Survey data to show the same area as the older maps.
     (contains Ordnance Survey Data © Crown copyright and database right 2011)

All the maps are provided as individual PDF files
Viewable using Adobe Reader, Photoshop or similar software capable of opening .pdf files

DETAILS:

The 1893 map:
Hand-coloured 1st Edition. Shows the route of a 3" water main through Cross Flats, and details of nearby railway line widening.

The 1921 map:
No hand-written additions.

The 1933 map:
Large network of proposed roads carefully added in pencil, with new houses in red. Houses in Park Drive and Pollard Avenue have dates added (construction dates?)

The 2011 map:
Showing the same area as the above maps this one shows the roads and buildings as they were in the early part of 2011 (Ordnance Survey).
