Blanchon Resin Filler "Colour-Match” Wood Filler
Blanchon Resin Filler has been specially formulated and developed for sealing joints, fissures (up to 2mm), holes and small cracks (up to 3mm, in several applications) in glued down wooden floors or wood panelling.
Resin Filler is recommended for general filling of glued wooden floors (in particular strip wood floors). Do not use on wooden floors laid on floor battens.
Resin Filler dries and hardens quickly.
Outstanding adhesion to most wood species (please consult us for rare exotic woods).
Only use on perfectly sanded wooden floors and panelling (see APPENDIX for details of sanding floors), free of any traces of wax, grease, oil or any other existing treatments. Under these nconditions, Resin Filler sticks perfectly.
The wooden floor must be perfectly clean and dry with, in general, a moisture content of less than 10%. Consult the relevant DTU in force (please contact our Export Department for further information on French building rules and specifications). Do not use detergents or whiteners.
Carefully remove all traces of dust.
Only use treatment products recommended by Blanchon (Trait’Plus® MU).
Important: if you want to stain after grouting flooring, it should take particular care of the final sanding. The Blanchon Aquateinte® 2K, the Blanchon Special Parquet Wood Stain (wood shades, tones or pastel colors), the Blanchon Wood Ageing Agent (shades positive) or Blanchon Waterborne Dye are recommended for staining or obtain a particular effect.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Resin Filler should always be used before the final finishing sanding.
Thoroughly stir contents before use.
No thinning is necessary under normal conditions.
Never seal a wood floor if the temperature is below 12°C or relative humidity is above 85%.
(Please respect the relevant Standards in force). Do not apply on wood with moisture content above 10%. Only use in well-ventilated areas and remove plants and fish tanks.
Mix carefully with the wood dust from the second sanding; the proportions vary according to use:
- fluid filler, containing around 20% wood dust by volume,
- thick filler, containing up to 50% wood dust by volume.
NB: Before application, it is important to check that the amount and smallness of the wood dust used corresponds to the hole or crack to be filled: too much wood dust makes the Resin Filler crumbly.
Mixture have to be used as soon as possible.
NB: It is important to check before applying the optimal match between the spackling to make on one hand, the smoothness of wood particles used and their percentage on the other hand: an excess of flour would leave the Resin Filler crumbly.
Apply with a smooth trowel.
Large holes, cracks and fissures should be filled in several steps (each application should be allowed to fully harden before the next application is carried out).
Then carry out the final sanding and carefully dust to remove the rough wood. The prepared wood can then be finished with the Blanchon selected products: floor varnish, varnish, wax or polish (preceded or not with a primer), oil (preceded or not by a specific primer).
