Gorilla Glue is polyurethane glue. When exposed to moisture the adhesive reacts and creates a foaming action that fills whilst it sticks. Gorilla Glue has an open working time of 20 minutes. The glue is brown in colour, but when dry it dries a tan colour, and is totally waterproof. Gorilla Glue is incredibly strong, bonding all types of wood, including pressure treated wood. Application:

For best results use on clean, dry bare wood. Apply a thin even film to one surface only. Assemble the joint immediately, applying continuous pressure,  preferably with a clamp. Use a damp cloth to remove excess adhesive.

Polymite (Cascamite) Wood glue

To use:

Polymite is a white resin powder and is used by mixing it in a glass or plastic container, two parts water to one part powder. It must be stirred thoroughly until it becomes a smooth/creamy paste. Pour water into a glass container add the powder and stir thoroughly until a smooth creamy paste is produced. I find if you mix the glue too thick then the glue is weak, it needs to be quite runny, then its a very strong glue.

Araldite Instant Clear is the epoxy resin adhesive is widely used by the Antiques and furniture trade to carry out invisible repair to holes, splits and cracks in furniture and frames etc by mixing the adhesive with "Cabinetmaker’s Walnut Crystals" although the Walnut Crystals are normally used as a wood dye it works very well with epoxy resin. Using Walnut Crystals the colour can be matched from very light to dark brown or to almost black if required by varying the amount of Walnut Crystals. Its a good colour match used for Oak, Mahogany and Walnut colour wood. We have Cabinetmaker’s Walnut Crystals listed in our Ebay Shop.

Fiddes Wood Dye

Used to stain new pine to tone down the new look, use this dye prior to the application of wax, oil. lacquer or varnish.

This wood dye is very economical to use and can be diluted with water if required

The Fiddes range of Pine Water Stains are recommended for use on new or old pine furniture, doors and floors etc where an antique, aged appearance is preferred. Exceptionally easy to use, Fiddes Pine Water Stains are used extensively throughout the Antique Pine and Pine Reproduction markets to create a uniform colour prior to an application of Fiddes Supreme Wax Polish. The dye is very economical to use because it can be diluted with water if required.
