My wife wanted a new phone but as a relatively keen wildlife enthusiast, the idea of a combo camera/phone was more appealing with the emphasis on camera as opposed to phone - just one piece of kit in the handbag was her ideal. The usual camera included with smartphones is just about OK but the idea of an optical zoom was a real plus factor when we considered the S4 Zoom. I also looked at the newer K Zoom but apart from a significant increase in cost and a slimmer form factor (not important in a handbag) there was no compelling reason to choose it over the S4 Zoom - the phone features didn't impress my wife. The handling of the S4 as a camera is excellent - just like a compact camera but with a much better screen and the photos taken are excellent - far better than expected. As a smartphone, it does everything needed and this is the only time you feel it could be a little less bulky - but remember - this is not a fashion accessory and it's camera first and phone last. So, a very happy wife and I am also satisfied because where she would usually forget to take her phone, she always remembered to take her camera! For the current price there is no comparable product on the market and it represents an excellent buy.Read full review
I love this phone, easy to use takes fantastic good quality pictures, before i got this phone i would always carry around a phone and a camera, now I only need the one devise. The phone is easy to use and I don't find it too bulky, I've had lots of positive comments from family and friends. It has everything thing I could ever need, phone , internet access, games, camera with optical zoom, lots of apps.
great camera, too many functions to mention, good all round phone, but tricky holding it,quite weighty.
really good phone for the price. lacks a few specs compared to the s4 but the camera is amazing. really easy to use and cases etc are really cheap online
I knew it was big before I bought it but I am not sure that a regular phone and carrying my compact camera might not have been a better solution.
