For lifting items up to 180kg this does the job very well. The mechanical advantage provided is very good for such a small tackle. Downside - string, yes string is not great. Has a tendency to twist and unravel; treat it carefully and you'll be fine.. It would have been nice if the string end was finished so that it didn't start fraying as soon as I started using it - easily remedied though!. Use gloves as the string is quite fine and may cut into your hands when pulling heavier items. Using it as a loft pulley and it's spot on.

Very good for what looks like flimsy lifting gear. I removed and replaced a classic mini power unit with it.Only issue is make sure you use grippy gloves as rope can be slippy. Top class item for the money. Recommended

Bought it to modify to raise a ceiling hung clothes drier - brilliant to hack but did re thread with a softer rope that I happened to have as the original hard nylon was better suited to a workshop than my use in the laundry.

Lifts well but awful nylon rope which keeps twisting and jamming. I had to have a constant heavy weight on the bottom to alleviate this but it still twisted as it was retracted. If I keep it I will have to replace the rope with cord similar to sash cord
