CITROEN 2 CV 1982 BLUE DEUX CHEVAUX 2CV
Hi, for sale is my Citroen that I've owned for the the past 5 years. I my opinion this is a very honest car and will do my best to describe it as such. It was brought on a whim with a previous girlfriend, guess who ended up it after splitting, it been hanging around my unit for the past two years and now it has to go.
The good parts on it is that the previous owner put it on a galvanised chassis, but I dont have any paperwork to say exactly when this work was undertaken. Last year I had to replace one of the sills, parts and labour this cost me about £1300 and it's why the bottom of the near side is just been painted with bare metal paint protector (the other one is sound). So effectively 75% of the chassis has been replaced in past 5-8 years, so it should be good for another 25 years (fingers crossed) before this sort of thing needs doing again. These are the major things that cost alot alot of money and time to fix on these cars.
Originally I thought about getting the whole car re-sprayed so it look all new and shiny hide the imperfections and it look like similar cars on here priced for between £3000-£6000. However if I paid that sort of money for it and then in one or two years time I noticed the odd rust spot creeping through, because it had not been sorted properly , I would feel cheated and would not like to do it this to someone else.
So there are a few area's on this car bodywork that need working on this to make this cosmetically perfect (I have gone over these area's with white bare metal sealant if you look at the pictures, they are perfectly fine to be left alone, however if someone had the time and inclination to take them, back to bare metal and do it properly then it would be a great 2CV. Convertible hood is all good and has lots of tension in it. The front passenger side door is rooting at the bottom and under the window, I would replace this if you was getting it resprayed (at least this is an easy job, it got through the MOT like this no problem), all the other doors are perfect . It would make a good usable classic car for daily use and has always been reliable, or a fantastic 1st car for a young driver, bags of character and great for young drivers insurance wise.
Just past MOT till 17th August 2013:
1) Nearside front lower suspension arm has slight play in pin/brush
2) Offside front lower suspension arm has slight play in pin/brush
3) Offside rear wheel bearing has very slight noise when rotated
Also the battery is new.
Please don't contact me with offers to end listing early, please just bid. Any questions regarding the car I will add to the listing description.

Please note the mileage stated is what on the clock i.e. 13'497, and on MOT paperwork etc, I think is probably safe to assume that it's probably been around the clock once over it's 30 year life, not trying to mislead, I don't know either way.

Sorry to do this, the CAR is on a SORN, I was going to put 6 month road tax on it on this Saturday to give it 6 month tax, to make it easy pick up and drive off, however from speaking to my insurance company the admin cost off doing this adding the CAR, just isn't worth doing this. So your need to be either prepared to drive it untaxed to it home, or get it insured first and get the road tax on it. Please bare this in mind when bidding.
