legend is an exceptional album which encompasses the theme and creates a atmosphere to the tv show--cant promote this enough since i first heard it a few months back normally i pass by soundtravks but this one is the exception in my mind a must buy lellupi
I loved this soundtrack album because it reminded me of the greatest band of the 1980's, Clannad. It starts off with the beginning track to the show "Robin(the Hooded Man),and you can then tell that the rest of the soundtrack will be fabulous, however you can't really feel the benefits until you watch the actual series and then you begin to realise how it was one of the best t.v shows from 1983-1985. Next, "Next is here" is such a haunting track but when a sad or touching scene came on the show, you can really feel how Marion was. Sorry i'm waffling....i have never been asked to write a review on a soundtrack. The cover sleeve is brilliant with Michael Praed brandishing the silver arrow and with Albion resting on his hand. I decided to buy it because i have always been a Robin of Sherwood fan back in the 1980's(me being only 10 or 11 years old, i know i was young but from the second or third series, i was hooked, i collected all the pictures from Look-in and i should have kept the annuals as well as they would have been priceless by now. What's not to dislike about the album, i rate the soundtrack 10/10, and i am going to fulfil my wish of meeting each of the cast(minus dear Robert Addie who sadly passed away back in 2003). If i bought the LP of this excellent soundtrack, and had the cast sign the sleeve or the inside on each of the characters, today, it would be probably worth a couple of thousand pounds now. Anyway hope i didn't bore you viewers too much with my review, and i hope to write another review on another of my purchases. xxRead full review
I was thrilled to be able to find the soundtrack to a favourite tv series of my teen years. Robin of Sherwood had me gripped with it's story lines and the music that made it so unique. The minute my CD arrived, I listened and was immediately transported back. Clannad's style is both soothing and evocative. Their music made the series what it was, aswell as Michael Praed! I am not sure how well known or how well received the series had been with other people, so it was so good to be able to find the title on eBay, such a vast number of people with many different tastes and styles increases my finding more of my favourite musical memories!
I used to own this cd.I in fact purcased it in the 80s when it was the theme to the Robin Hood tv programme.I saw a rerun of the series recently so instead of going to the local record shop I bid for it on ebay.It is a lovely Irish haunting melodies.i saw Clannad at the Royal Albert Hall afew years ago and they were really good
For those of you, like me, who grew up with the hit T.V show Robin of Sherwood you will remember how the music set the scene of battle, adventure, friendship and love. Clanad were by far the perfect choice for a show like Robin of Sherwood, the bands style fit beautifuly with the show and together created an atmosphere that to this day is rarely matched but never surpassed. The Ledgend album has all the music of the show and can still give you that feeling of adventure in Sherwood as wel as being a very rlaxing album to listen to if you have had a hard day, giving you a feeling of better and simpler times when you were young and watching a show that was such a huge family favorite. By comparison to other soundtracks from either T.V or movies this is one of the best it was made for the show and gives you a real feeling of the magic that was Robin of Sherwood.Read full review
