Super example of a Classic Austin Mini Mayfair (Auto) with a very rare vinyl Rag-Top Roof - this is simply amazing in the summer!!!!
And virtually rust free!!!! With no welding needed to my knowledge! 'Mitzy' is my daily car and has been for the last two years! I am absolutely gutted that I cannot afford to keep her as a second car, as I would struggle to find one the same and in such good nick! She has just recently had a partial respray from Silver to a lovely custom colour blue - with the plan to next spray the inside in cream, re-furb the minilite alloys in cream and re-carpet in cream - as her original existing carpets are a little tired! Her interior is all original and in a lovely iced blue velvet, with matching door cards front and rear. They are in great condition, with only a few marks that could be easily cleaned with upholstery cleaner. She also has the original battery cover and boot liner, with brand new spare tyre, on a Weller wheel. Her windows also have a slight hint of blue in the glass! Original 10" wheels, with original Drum brakes. And her heater works!!!!! Unfortunately, my circumstances have changed and I now need to do weekly motorway driving, so have had to buy a modern car! :( So no longer able to complete the refurb I had planned! But she is a very pretty mini just as she is; but would be fantastic, if someone could add their remaining finishing touches! MOT until May 2013, TAX until Oct 31st 2012, new alternator (last year), re-con starter motor (last year), new bigger battery (last winter), new front bottom half panel (for MOT this year, as teardrop bracket had corroded), new oil filter (this spring), new fan belt (this spring) - replaced radiator, she is also wax oiled underneath, so no rot! She's had a variety of bits n pieces done over the last two years (too many to list) and has been maintained by an independent mini specialist mechanic! As with all minis (she is my 4th) she has the obligatory oil leak :) but nothing too major, the new oil filter reduced this. She also has her typical mini quirks and she is certainly not perfect - but no true classic mini is, unless they have had everything replaced! She could probably do with two new front tyres fairly soon! And where the front bottom panel was welded on, it looks like it may not have been sealed/primed from the inside/back, as there is a little bit of surface rust just staring to show in the seams under the headlights - but can be sorted easily enough! Also, there is a bit of corner corrosion on the front bar of the rag top - but sure this could be treated to prevent further spread - certainly doesn't stop the sunroof working! I hope I have covered everything, but if not, please just ask!
