COLUMBIA RIVER JETTY CONSTRUCTION ORIGINAL 1900's Railroad Jetty PHOTO

Description

ORIGINAL circa 1900's Construction related Columbia River Jetty Photograph. View of a Railroad Engine on the Trestle of a Columbia River Jetty. These engines rode on a trestle that sat on top of the Jetty. The photo is stamped on the reverse "New Years Oreg." and has a pencil notation "Columbia River Jetty" I believe the reference to "New Years Oreg" is related the the Oregonian Newspaper, in Portland Oregon, and that the photo was used for an for a press or news article in a New Years Edition of the the paper. I am not sure which jetty is pictured here, but I thought it might be the South Jetty at the mouth of the Columbia River.

Photo measures approx: 5 inches by 4 inches

Condition: - matte finish, original antique photograph - does have creasing / folding, going along the top edge of the photo, a small edge tear at the top edge toward the left side, general wear to edges and some minor wrinkling to the photo - another, small edge tear at the top left corner, some slight toning at the upper portion of the photo, however, the resolution is still good, there is residue on the reverse, of old paste, indicating a previous mounting - Please see scanned images

This RARE Original Oregonian Newspaper Press Photograph of a Railroad Engine on the trestle of a Columbia River Jetty, Makes an Excellent Addition to any Vintage Columbia River Historic Photographic Collection Photo Archive.
