Drives and swims but interior not finished.
Sorry correction 8600 long, 2350 wide, 2900 high, (will fit in a 40' high top container), 3000Kg as is, 4000Kg equiped, 7500Kg GVW (designed to be driven on a car license).
Toyota Landcruiser 4200cc Turbo diesel (mechanical fuel injection, very fuel efficient and most reliable running gear on the planet, can get parts all over the world), 5 speed manual gearbox and Hi-Lo range, modifed to provide PTO for rear prop (can drive prop in all 5 forward and reverse gear as well as with wheels turning or not turning).
6x6 drive with Toyota Landcruiser diffs all with diff locks so fully 6x6 when required (I can send video of it driving out of a 30deg slip way). 6 wheel disc brakes, transmission brake.
Unlike DUKW and other amphibious trucks which have complete beam axles out in the water, the running gear is all inboard with only independent driveshafts and suspension struts out in the water (gives smoother underside for better speed and less running gear getting wet). She will do 70 mph on land and 6 knots in the water.
Large 4 blade bronze prop (pic shows earlier 3 blade) which is motioned down into the water or up into the hull (via trailing wishbones) with an electric actuator. Prop vectors (rotates side to side) for steering in opposition to the front wheels (power assisted).
Special vents allow water to the rear prop when the hull is grounded allowing propulsion in very shallow conditions.
Cooling air comes in the nose and out of side gills, additional water to water cooling when on water is automatically available.
Forward control. Design for 8 birth with full motorhome facilities and 6 forward seats in the front. (please see sketch). Upper deck with provision for second control set for top deck steerage on water (access via internal yaght ladder and sea hatch). Rear swim deck.
I have laminated windscreens from a tour coach and have implemented wiper system, front lights from a Volvo V50, rear lights, exhaust system, steering, brakes, clutch, gear linkage, cooling system, doors. Walls are aluminium, roof is a combination of GRP and aluminium deck plate.
Scratch built steel hull utilising high tensile 2mm steel, designed for full emersion hot dip galvanising (measured to fit in Birmingham facility). All welding is from the outside to prevent skin distortion.
