Boxed Camputers Lynx Home Computer

Very Rare 1980's home computer, only produced for a few months!

You don't see these rare machines very often, especially boxed!

An ultra rare machine that probably only appears on Ebay 2 or 3 times a year at most.

I'd always wanted one since drooling over the magazine adverts back in 1983 when I had a ZX Spectrum.  I finally managed to find one in the early 90's and it has been one of the most prized machines in my collection.  It worked fine when I purchased it, it's since been in (warm & dry) storage but unfortunately it no longer powers up.  I have no idea why and don't have the time right now to fix it so offer it for sale as spares or repair.

It still makes a nice display piece as it's a great looking machine and perhaps you have the time / skill to get it working again.

A great addition to any retro computer collection and an important machine in British computing history.

 

Included in this auction:

  • 48K Camputers Lynx home computer in  great condition, but unfortunately not powering up anymore. 
  • Original Power Supply unit in great condition.
  • Original TV connection lead.
  • Original User Manual in good condition.
  • Period third party keyboard dust cover also included.
  • Original outer box sleeve and poly's - I've taken lots of photo's of the packaging, so please see those for condition.

Further to a couple of questions regarding this computer, I popped open the case (4 screws), unplugged the keyboard's ribbon cable and have taken several pictures of the PCB.

The additional connector on the back appears to have been very neatly installed and interfaced directly to the Z80 CPU via a ribbon cable.

Also, the main circuit board itself has many additional small silver wires reminiscent of an Issue 1 Spectrum's.  Obviously an early circuit board and these wires added to rectify issues with the initial PCB design.
