If you want to film equivalent to a modern day basic digital Canon SLR that works with contemporary digital autofocus lenses you will not do much better than buy one of these cameras. The only disadvantage is that a pack of 3x36 exposure rolls of film and the processing will probably cost more than the camera!

I wanted to start semi-professional photography and started with the EOS 500N a "low-cost-experiment" after a friend's recommendation. After a few weeks experience and a few films developped, I have to say this buy was absolutely spot on and a nice bargain as well. And moreover, there are tons of good used equipment on online markets availiable, so this cam was a real good start into SLR photography!
Possibly the best £7 I’ve spent in a long time! Haven’t put battery’s in yet but from the images I’m sure it will be in full working order. Speedy postage. Overall very pleased
