Cant just plug and play if not familiar with this type of canon, ink carts are different and imagine easy to break if you decide to skip instructions. A lot of protective tape that can be missed and its not clear what to rip off, eben only having 2 xarts. Got it cheap, so not really a problem, but setting up with ink charging etc took ages to get the software going, and its not the fastest tbh

Bought this as my existing Lexmark was getting on and I wanted a tablet friendly printer. Set up the printer as per the instructions and now it's installed, it prints from my laptop OK - eventually - and that's the problem - eventually. Sometimes it loses connection, sometimes it works, sometimes it prints only after a reboot et. Even when it does work, it always goes through what seems like a self test first and is unbelievably noisy whilst going through this routine. Unfortunately wife had dumped the box, or it would have gone back!
The printer is not working. Shame

After a nightmare journey with kodak all in one and three replacements later this canon Pixma is a dream. Worked instantly and I have had no problems since. easy to set up and easy to use. Great.
