Charles Dickens Book, The Life of Our Lord. 1st Edition, Leather Bound, 1934

Written as a private project for his children, and published posthumously in the 1930s, this book was never supposed to see the light of day. Dickens did not want it published, which is why it was not seen until over 50 years after his death.

This illustrated Life of Our Lord book was written in 1849. With a photograph of Dickens to frontispiece and further eleven black and white illustrations throughout and facsimile reprints of letters. With borders, decorative capitals and head and tail pieces throughout.

First published in 1934 by Morrison and Gibb and with a preface by Lady Dickens, dated 1934. In a full calf binding with gilt reproduction of Dicken's signature to front board.

Condition report: Some scuffing and wear to the leather cover as shown (damage to corners as shown) with some slight mis-shaping, an inscription panel fixed to the inside. The internal pages all appear to be in very good condition with no tearing or corner creasing.

Size: 127 pages, 24cm (9.5 inches) tall. All measurements are approximate.
