As shown. Badge is in white metal with twin, horizontally aligned, loop post fixings and with scarlet cloth backing behind voided centre.
Badge measures just over 1 & 1/4" (32mm) across scroll by 1 & 1/4" (32mm) high at centre. See Fig.956 on p.153 of History of the British Army Infantry Collar Badge. Naval & Military Press, Colin Churchill, 2002.
The Royal Westmoreland Light Infantry Militia became the 4th Bn of Border Regiment in 1881.
Churchill states that ".......on 24th May 1895 it was decreed that the new badge would be similar to that of the line battalions but without 'China' above the Dragon in the centre of the badge, and with no battle honours on the arms of the cross. In addition, in place of the central honour 'Arroyo dos Molinos 1811', would be the Garter Motto. The Garter Proper was an old badge of the Royal Westmoreland Militia. In white metal for other ranks, the bottom half of the centre was voided and backed by scarlet cloth. This was Pattern No. P1336b, sealed 22nd October 1895 (Fig.956)........Worn until 1908. The 4th Militia Battalion was disbanded in 1908."
The badge I have listed here corresponds exactly with the Churchill description shown above.

I'm happy to combine purchases but please advise me when bidding on multiple items so that I don't waste my time sending out several unecessary invoices.
I protect all buttons and badges by mounting them on cardboard wrap-overs. This enables them to be posted at the Large Letter rate within the UK and the Small Packet rate overseas.
I obtain proof of posting certificate for all items despatched.
PayPal payment is preferred. Cheques and Postal Orders are only accepted in GBP Sterling.
Buyers are welcome to collect.
I ship Mondays to Thursdays inclusive. I accept returns only if the item is not as described.
Before leaving feedback for P&P overseas buyers are asked to please consider the fact that I add £0.5 to the actual Royal Mail Postage cost. Given that eBay now charge me a 10% final value fee on postage shown this means that in the case of an item going to Australia or the Pacific eBay take £0.45. This leaves me with £0.05 to cover all of my costs!!! Should I get further disparaging remarks re P&P charged, I will, as many other UK sellers now do, restrict my sales to the UK only. I DO NOT and never have made a profit from P&P.
UK P&P is FREE.
