This is a printed ceramic pot stand from our Royal Academy range. The design is Indian Painting by Craigie Aitchinson CBE RA. This item measures 6 inches square (152mm) and comes in a display box with further information about the historical context of Ironbridge Gorge valley.
Ideal for house plants, teapots and casseroles. As
a world heritage site The Ironbridge Gorge is famous as the birthplace
of the Industrial Revolution. Few people are aware that a mile
downstream of Ironbridge is the small village of Jackfield, which 130
years ago was the centre of Britain's Ceramic Tile Industry. The original Craven Dunnill factory is not only our workshop, but also houses the Jackfield Tile Museum, part of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, the most complete Victorian Tile Factory in England. An original set of tile moulds inspired this decorative but resilient range of ceramic pot stands. Pressed from powdered clay, decorated and hand glazed using the manufacturing process of the late 19th Century. Ideal for house plants, teapots and casseroles.
