I bought this as a present for a pal who is a speedway fan. He was pleased with the gift and a few days later said it was a good interesting read about a club/track he never saw as it had closed long before he became interested in the sport. So if you like to find out about old defuncted speedway clubs and tracks you should like this book.

An excellent coverage of a famous speedway track and its riders, now alas, long gone, yet preserved to be enjoyed and remembered in this excellent book by fans of the sport in the present day. Recommended reading for speedway historians. Peter Wheat.

This is a very interesting book which highlights a facinating period in the history of The Crystal Palace. When I purchased the book I was more interested in the minature car racing period but the motor cycle Speedway history was just as interesting. I hope someone is writing up the minature race-car history as well.
Excellent read . A very detail look at part of the Unknown sporting history of London

Another Speedway history, well written and with much of interest. Chrystal Palace was lost as a venue before WW2 and the reasons for this are interesting. Tom Farndon, who some believe was the greatest ever, but who trajically died very yound beacme a star at Chrystal Palace and his emergence as a star is particularly interesting.
