Perfect kit for any photography buff!
This kit contains everything you will need to explore the historical alternative photographic process of cyanotype print making and create original prints using only sun light, your imagination and supplied sheets of fine art paper and cyanotype sensitizer.
Both of these images were made with this kit:
The cyanotype process was invented by John Herschal in the 18th century with notable artists such as Anna Atkins using the process to create beautiful ephemeral organic prints using natural flora, and other organic items.
As a process, it couldnt be any simpler. Sensitized paper is exposed together with contact negatives in the sunlight, developed under tap water, and dried in fresh air!
Such an elegant process, whether one chooses to use negative contact sheets, or found objects laid directly onto the paper surface. Great fun for big kids and little kids alike. Create beautiful original one-off blue prints (sun prints) while learning about photography and the science of the sun.
INCLUDED IN THE KIT
Everything you need to create in excess of 8 cyanotype prints on supplied art paper. Kit includes Cyanotype Sensitizer (liquid), Citric Acid (powder), 8 x 7"x7"-ish Art Paper, Brush, Protective Gloves, and Full Instruction Booklet. The Art paper is hand cut so there may be variations in the size - hence the ish! :o)
You will likely have some cyanotype chemical left over, which is ideal if you want to continue experimenting. You can coat cloth, wood, and many other organic materials and expose to the sun as with regular art paper.
Other kits are available, as well as workshops and masterclasses. Please ask, or check my blog for more details.
