Czech Sommerso Art Glass Vase, poss. Chribska, C.1970
This is a stunning example of post-war Czech glass design, dating to around 1970. It is a vase, probably designed by Josef Hospodka in the very late 60s for the Chribska glassworks.
Magnificently curvy in shape, it has a bright blue body encased in clear glass. This sort of Czech glass is often mistaken for Murano, and it is of interest to Murano collectors as the design rivals the best of the Italians.
A fabulously modernist object, in a wonderful, organic form, it catches the light beautifully. Makes an excellent display piece.
Measures 6.25” (16.5cm) tall, and it weighs 1.3kg.
Very good – there no other apparent damage except for small scuffs to one side, and no water staining to the inside.
It will be very securely wrapped & protected, and will be sent insured. Domestic insured delivery costs £6 – E.U., £12, the U.S. & Canada - £17, Australia & NZ £19.

I have collected glass and ceramics, antiques and antiquities for many years, and my shop philosophy is to sell very good antiques at very low prices very quickly so I do not need to carry much stock; larger shops will charge much more, but take much longer than I do to make a sale. Each to their own, then - but that makes my prices ultra-low compared to a bricks-and-mortar antiques shop.
I try to describe everything I sell as honestly as possible, including any damage, issues, or attributions to a maker, in my descriptions. If you have any questions, a problem with a piece you’ve bought, or even further info on a piece I’m selling (always welcome!) please mail me. Please don’t ever leave negative or neutral feedback without speaking to me – we can always come to a solution.
