These strings are great and not just for Soul or Blues but sound good for all types of music. I play old time soul in a ten piece soul band from the Sixties and I also play in church every Sunday and these strings sound great in each occasion..

Great Strings once you try these you won't go back to round wounds... These need about 2 weeks break in time, they might feel abit sticky at first but like i said they are new right. Lasts up to months or even years depending on your playing style. So smooth almost like silk aka easy going on the fingers. They are $$ but worth it in the long run. Great for pop, r&b, rock, blues, jazz, indie, country

Good strings. For flats they are definitely on the bright side when new, making pronounced clacks against the frets. After some playing they settle down and most of the clacking goes away, and the strings sound more even. Feel is good, tuning stability is good... not much to dislike after they wear in a bit.

The only flatwounds that I use. I have them on all four of my basses. Plenty of top end, good bottom, a lot more punch than roundwounds. I have had a set of these on my PJ for well over a year - still as bright and punchy as the day I put them on. Given the fact that they may last for years, I'm done with roundwounds!
