Most people don't read the full listings, they just skip through looking at the pictures then ask the questions. So hear's the last paragraph first, you'll read it again later if you get that far. Come and have a crawl under it and over it, (It's in Lancashire not far off the M6 @ Junction 34,) take it to bits and show me where the bad bits are coz I can't find them. It's that good I could quite easily change my mind at any time and just keep it as it's in such good order. I don't expect to find another one as good as this one. I had intended to keep it and make it my last vehicle before I retire, but as with most things in life plans change. With such low mileage It will see my driving days out thats for sure and with it's relaibility and low running costs it's really all an old fogie like me needs...I've had all the fast cars in my younger days, Lotus Elans, TVR's, Ferarri and the like but nowadays with the roads that congested you just can't use them. To be honest 60's fast enough out there with all the idiots that are about and being an Ex Hot Rod driver I never thought I'd hear myself saying that. 1992 DAIHATSU FOURTRAK 2.8 DIESEL TDX IN RED
a very clean, genuine vehicle, a rock solid example of this now rare and much sought after model, finished in red metallic with a silver top, spotlessly clean grey cloth upholstery, 7 seats, NO drivers air bag, and NO ABS to go wrong and cause you any hassle when it comes to MOT time, 5 speed gearbox with Hi/Lo ratios that all working as they should, electric windows and mirrors, side steps, bull bar, original steel wheels with chunky all terrain tyres, twin socket tow pack (12N and 12S Sockets), a well maintained vehicle that comes with a near full 12 months mot, and near 12 months road tax totally reliable starts almost before you turn the key! You know what I mean.
LESS THAN 72000 MILES FROM NEW
ONLY 2 PRIVATE OWNERS FROM NEW
FULL SERVICE HISTORY INCLUDING NEW CAMBELT AND RECENT OIL, AIR AND FUEL FILTER CHANGED
THIS IS AN VERY GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE EARLY DAIHATSU FOURTRAK. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL KEPT, IT MUST BE ONE OF THE CLEANEST IN THE COUNTRY AND ONE OF THE FEW WITH GENUINE VERIFIED LOW MILEAGE .
VERY RARE WITH JUST OVER 70K ON THE CLOCK FROM NEW WITH A FULL SERVICE BOOK AND THE LATEST VOSA VERIFIED MOT CERT. !
FITTED SEAT COVERS - CARPET AND TRIM ALMOST LIKE NEW ( can't say new as it's 20 years old)
ALARM AND IMMOBILISER FITTED A SET OF FOUR DAIHATSU FOURTRAK HARD FLOOR MUD MATS, same as Item number: 130709953245 go with the car. IT'S A GREAT 4X4 FOR WORK OR PLEASURE. BODYWORK SHOWS ONLY ONE IMPERFECTION AND THAT'S ON THE PASSANGER SIDE DOOR, APART FROM THAT IT'S ALL GOOD WITH NO OTHER DAMAGE, INTERIOR IS CLEAN AND TIDY WITH NO MARKS, IT'S A
SOLID RELIABLE TRUCK WITH NO RUST, IT'S TAXED AND MOT READY FOR PLEASURE OR WORK
As Jason Dawe would say... In a world where 4x4s are starting to drive like luxury saloons and luxury saloons are performing like sports cars it’s nice to find a car that does what it says on the tin.
Daihatsu Fourtrak 71,000 miles, 9 months Mot, 9 months Tax. Ready to Drive away.
( mileage may go up slightly as the vehicle does get used but not every day.)
thats 3,500 miles a year on average, all genuine \ FSH \ . Interested \ Just Ask \ yes it's the old model, the one with the leaf springs, but Hey!.... I tell you what they were not as bad a ride as people make out, and with the Three Stage Damper system still working you have the choice of Three Settings, SOFT , MEDIUM or HARD Suspension, and it works.... I was in a later coil spring version the other day and it was as hard as hell so I'd give the leaf springs the thumbs up
Are you Looking for a good Fourtrak, condition very very clean but obviously not mint! It's 20 years old after all so it would be wrong to say it's mint but it is very very clean with no rot in any of the usual places. Front wings and inner wings in perfect condition, just fitted new bump stops to the rear and look at the chassis
Bump stops copper greased and fitted with Stainless Steel bolts
All panels are very straight with the exception of a small dinge in the pasanger side door
Engine starts on the first turn of the key even though one of the 4 glow plugs were not working..............I have replaced the dud one and all 4 are working fine, with oil, air & fuel filters all for a tenner (£12 inc Vat) these vehicles are really cheap to maintain and not sore on the pocket making ownership very affordable and easy to live with.
No oil leaks on this engine This has just had a new cam belt fitted,
new camshaft seal, new crankshaft seal and new oil, air and fuel filters fitted, so now ready to roll. Obviously a sump full of fresh oil, Rimula ( the best you can get for these vehicles). It's silly not to change the cam and crank seals at the same time as you are in there doing the belt for all they cost.
look at the condition inside definitely never seen sheep or hens in here.. I have made one small repair patch to the rear floor area, I could have left it but being a bit of a perfectionist I started digging and thought, well if I was keeping it ( which I will if it doesn't sell as I don't think I could find a cleaner more original First addition Fourtrak ) I would want it fixed properly so needless to say out came the cutters and the mig welder and on went the patch...all undersealed underneath for protection in the area that was welded.....Simples!
Picture of the repair \ can you spot it \ it's been welded, seam sealed and painted.
Carpets back in place \ nice and clean \ this really is a tidy vehicle.
This is not your ordinary Farm hacked Fourtrak................It has just started raining today and I couldn't resist taking this picture. What a shine. Now I do like my Discovery's ( I have 2 ) and I like the old Series Land Rovers as well but this is every bit as good as the Disco and I would say it might just have the edge when it comes to pulling power, it is a good sound vehicles with plenty of spares readily available on line, simple to service and easy to work on.....What more could anyone ask for. Its a bit like a Series / early 90 Land Rover but better >> probably better described as a Jap Land Rover but with cloth seats and a radio, they are easy to fix and will pull a house down. This is an old Truck but a reliable one with all the refinements that Rover forgot to add. >> with adjustable seats, a heater that works and clears the screen, 2 speed wipers + intermittant wipe, electric windows, electric door mirrors and lots more and with it's bullet proof 2.8 engine it will go on for many more years.
heater plugs all working, copper greased when refitted, new guality hose clamps fitted where necessary, much better than Jubilee which are crap nowadays
Seat covers fitted to protect the seats. The bases and seat backs are all sound and not ripped. Interior Carpets in very good order.
Door cards also in good clean condition, Alloy side steps fitted, a good idea as it protects you from other parked vehicles opening their doors and damaging the paintwork. Come and have a crawl under it and over it, take it to bits and show me where the bad bits are coz I can't find them. It's that good I could quite easily change my mind at any time and just keep it as it's in such good order. I don't expect to find another one as good as this one. I had intended to keep it and make it my last vehicle before I retire.
